Scope
This notice applies to the CruiseAmp iPhone app, the CruiseAmp website at cruiseamp.com, and the website's iPhone launch-notification form.
How the iPhone app uses location
If you grant foreground location permission, iOS provides CruiseAmp with location, speed, accuracy, and time information while you are using the app. CruiseAmp processes that information on your iPhone to:
- show live speed and determine when automatic volume should move between your parked and cruising levels;
- calculate trip distance for the current dashboard session; and
- calculate local sunset and night-sky context shown on the dashboard.
CruiseAmp does not send your location to a CruiseAmp server, does not use it for advertising or analytics, and is not configured to collect location in the background. You can deny or revoke location access in iOS Settings. Without precise foreground location, live speed and automatic volume are unavailable, while non-location controls remain usable.
Other iPhone app information
- Settings and onboarding state. Volume levels, speed thresholds, appearance, mount layout, music-shortcut order, and completed onboarding steps are stored on your device so the app can remember your choices. CruiseAmp does not create an account for you.
- Apple Music. If you choose Apple Music, iOS asks for permission before CruiseAmp reads current playback information or sends controls to the system Music player. CruiseAmp does not send that playback information to a CruiseAmp server.
- Links to other apps. Music and golf shortcuts open separate apps or their store pages. Those services operate under their own privacy notices, and CruiseAmp does not receive information about what you do after leaving CruiseAmp.
The app has no CruiseAmp account, advertising SDK, or analytics service.
Website and waitlist information
- Email address. We collect the address you choose to enter in the launch-notification form.
- Basic request and security information. Our hosting and form provider may process information such as IP address, browser or device details, request time, and spam-detection signals to deliver and secure the site and process the form.
CruiseAmp does not use website analytics, advertising pixels, cross-site tracking, or advertising cookies on this launch page.
How we use information
The iPhone app uses on-device information only to provide the features described above. We use your waitlist email to send the one iPhone launch notification described beside the form. We may also use website submission and request information to prevent abuse, troubleshoot delivery, maintain security, comply with law, and respond to a privacy request.
Where a legal basis is required, we process app information to provide the features you request and rely on your permission or consent where required. For the website, we rely on your consent for the requested launch email and on legitimate interests or legal obligations for site security, fraud prevention, and compliance. You may withdraw consent for the launch email at any time by contacting us.
Service provider and sharing
The site and waitlist form are hosted and processed by Netlify. Netlify stores verified form submissions for us, filters suspected spam, and sends submission notifications to our email inbox. Our email-routing and inbox providers may process those notifications and messages sent to our support address so they can deliver them to us. These providers may process data in the United States and other locations where they or their service providers operate.
Apple provides the iPhone operating-system services CruiseAmp uses for location permission, Apple Music permission and playback, local storage, and links to other apps. Information you provide directly to Apple or another app is governed by that provider's privacy notice.
When a service provider processes personal information for CruiseAmp, we require it to protect and use that information consistently with this notice and applicable law.
We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, rent the waitlist, or give it to data brokers. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights or security, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards.
Retention
Current ride location, trip distance, and playback details are used during the app session and are not stored in a CruiseAmp account or sent to a CruiseAmp server. App preferences and onboarding state remain in the app's local storage until you change them or delete the app.
We plan to delete the waitlist and its stored submissions no later than 90 days after sending the iPhone launch notification. We may delete an address sooner upon request. Limited records may be retained longer when reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, or resolving a dispute.
Your choices and rights
You can control the app's location and Apple Music permissions in iOS Settings, change app preferences inside CruiseAmp, and delete locally stored app information by deleting the app.
You can ask to access, correct, or delete your waitlist information, withdraw your consent, or object to processing by emailing support@cruiseamp.com. We may need to verify that you control the email address involved.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights and may be entitled to complain to a local data-protection authority. CruiseAmp will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.
Children
CruiseAmp and its website are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child submitted an address can contact us for deletion.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to a small launch list. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure, so please do not submit sensitive information through the email field.
Changes and contact
We may update this notice when the website, providers, or legal requirements change. The effective date above will change when we make a material update.
